A family member may have one of three roles on your FamilyArc archive. Each comes with a different set of permissions:
- A family historian manages the archive and can edit all family pages, such as the Homepage, Public Website, or History page, as well as any story on Storyline or file in the Library. More than one person can be designated as a family historian.
- A contributing member can see any stories that have been published on Storyline, as well as files within his/her own Library. A contributing member can also add and edit his/her own stories, photos, videos, etc. Contributing members cannot view or edit files in another family member's Library, cannot edit anyone else’s stories, and do not have the ability to edit family pages such as the Homepage, Public Website, or History page.
- If you don’t designate a family member as a family historian or a contributing member, that family member will be a non-contributing member—they will be present in the Family Tree but won’t have access to the archive. (You may wish to use this function for family members who have already passed away or for young children who don’t know how to use the archive yet.)
