A family member may have one of three roles on your FamilyArc archive: family historian, contributing member, and non-contributing member. Learn more here.
If you decide you want to change one of your family member's account role (e.g. make someone a contributing member or take away his/her family historian privileges), you can do that through your Family Account Settings.
(Please note that you must be a family historian to edit a family member’s account role.)
- Go to your Family Account Settings. This option can be found by clicking the drop-down arrow beside your name in the upper right-hand corner of your screen.
- Find the person whose role you wish to edit by scrolling through the alphabetical list of family members. Click the pencil-shaped edit button to the right of that person’s name and select “Edit [that family member’s name].”
- Click the “edit” button on the Account Roles section.
- Check the “family historian” or “contributing member” box, depending on which role you want this person to have. If you leave both boxes unchecked, this person will be a non-contributing member. (You will need to enter an email address also if you want this person to receive an invitation to become a contributing member or family historian on your account.)
- Save.
